When to use branches (multi-branch strategy)
Club Admin · Bahasa Melayu below
Branches are for physical venues. Categories are for training groups. Getting the split right at the start saves painful reorganization later.
Use one branch
Best for clubs that train at a single venue, even with multiple time slots or age groups.
- Setup: create 1 branch (e.g.
Main Field) - Categories: split age/skill groups (
U8,U10,U12,Beginner,Advanced) - Sessions: linked to the one branch
Use multiple branches
Best for clubs training across multiple venues — even within the same city.
Common scenarios: - Multi-location academy — sessions at School A, School B, Community Field - Regional academy — different neighborhoods on different days - Franchise model — same club brand, several venues run by different coach teams - Facility rental — you rent Field X on weekdays, Field Y on weekends
Decision framework
| Question | If YES → multi-branch |
|---|---|
| Do sessions happen at physically different addresses? | Yes |
| Would parents need different pickup instructions per location? | Yes |
| Are different coach teams tied to different venues? | Yes |
| Do you need per-venue attendance / revenue reports? | Yes |
| Do parents choose which venue their child attends? | Yes |
If most answers are NO → one branch is simpler.
Common mistakes
- Using branches as time-of-day groups —
Morning Branch,Evening Branch. Wrong — use categories or session tags instead. - Using branches as age groups —
U8 Branch. Wrong — use categories. - One branch per session — over-fragments; use one branch per venue.
How branches interact with categories
- A trainee has one primary branch (where they usually train)
- A trainee is in one or more categories (age/skill groups)
- Categories can span branches —
U10 Beginnersmight exist at bothKL MainandPuchong Branch - Sessions are linked to a specific branch + one or more categories
Reporting per branch
With multi-branch enabled: - Attendance → Reports → By Branch — attendance rates per venue - Billing → Reports → By Branch — revenue per venue - Coaches → By Branch — sessions taken per coach at each venue
Useful for identifying underperforming locations or high-demand venues.
Migrating to multi-branch later
If you started single-branch and want to expand: 1. Create the new branches 2. Reassign trainees + coaches to the appropriate new branch (see Transfer between branches) 3. New sessions: pick the correct branch when creating 4. Historical data stays at the original branch — reports for pre-migration periods reflect the old structure
Bila guna branches (strategi multi-cawangan)
Branch = venue fizikal. Category = kumpulan latihan.
Satu branch
Kelab latihan satu venue sahaja walaupun banyak slot masa/kumpulan umur.
Setup: 1 branch (cth. Main Field), pecah kumpulan via categories.
Banyak branches
- Multi-lokasi academy
- Regional (kawasan berbeza)
- Franchise
- Sewa venue berbeza hari
Framework keputusan
| Soalan | Jawab Ya → multi-branch |
|---|---|
| Sesi di alamat fizikal berbeza? | Ya |
| Arahan pickup berbeza per lokasi? | Ya |
| Team coach berbeza tiap venue? | Ya |
| Perlu report per-venue? | Ya |
| Ibu bapa pilih venue anak? | Ya |
Silap biasa
- Guna sebagai kumpulan masa (
Morning Branch) — guna category - Guna sebagai kumpulan umur (
U8 Branch) — guna category - Satu branch per sesi — over-fragment
Interaksi dengan categories
- Pelatih ada 1 primary branch
- Pelatih dalam 1+ categories
- Categories boleh merentas branches
- Sesi: 1 branch + 1+ categories
Report per branch
Attendance / Billing / Coaches → By Branch.
Migrate ke multi-branch
- Cipta branches baru
- Transfer trainees + coaches
- Sesi baru — pilih branch betul
- Data lama kekal di branch asal
