How to create a category (age group / class)
Club Admin · Bahasa Melayu below
Categories are the groups your trainees belong to — usually by age or skill level (e.g. U8 Beginners, U10 Intermediate, Adults Recreational). Categories drive:
- Which sessions a trainee shows up in
- Which fee structures apply
- Which coaches are assigned
Steps
- Sidebar → Categories (
/categories/) - Click Create Category (top right)
- Fill in:
- Name — e.g.
U10 Beginners. Keep it consistent — this exact string is what you'll type in the Excel bulk import. - Description — optional - Display order — number for sort order in dropdowns (lower = higher up) - Age range — min/max age. AAU Club Manager suggests age-appropriate categories when parents enrol. - Skill level — Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced (optional, informational) - Default type — Trainee, Member, or None (for special-purpose categories) - Show in parent card — if on, this category appears on the trainee's parent-facing card. Off for hidden/admin-only categories. - Active — leave on - Save.
Assign coaches to a category
- Open the category → Coaches tab
- Click Add Coach — pick from your club's coaches (they must already be added to the club first — see Add a coach)
- Optionally mark one as Primary — this coach is auto-selected when creating a session.
Link a fee structure to a category
Categories don't have fees by default. To make a monthly fee apply only to this category:
- Billing → Fees → open the fee → set Category = this category → Save.
- Now only trainees in this category get billed by that fee structure.
Leave the fee's Category blank if it should apply to all trainees in the club regardless of category.
Rename or archive
- Rename a category — old sessions and invoices still work; AAU Club Manager uses the current name everywhere.
- Archive (toggle Active off) — no new trainees can enrol; existing ones stay. Sessions in this category can still happen.
Common pitfalls
- Two categories with the same name — AAU Club Manager allows it (they have different IDs) but coaches and Excel imports get confused. Always add a suffix if you must (e.g.
U10 AandU10 B). - Categories not showing in parent enrolment — check
Show in parent cardandActiveare on, and the category's age range matches the child.
Cara buat kategori (kumpulan umur / kelas)
- Description — optional - Display order — nombor sort - Age range — min/max umur - Skill level — Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced (info sahaja) - Default type — Trainee / Member / None - Show in parent card — on jika mahu muncul pada card ibu bapa - Active — biarkan on - Save
Tambah jurulatih
- Buka kategori → Coaches tab
- Klik Add Coach
- Tanda Primary untuk jurulatih utama
Sambung yuran
- Billing → Fees → buka yuran → set Category = kategori ini → Save
- Hanya pelatih dalam kategori ini akan dicaj
Rename / archive
- Rename OK — sesi lama dan invois tak rosak
- Archive (toggle off) — tak ada enrolment baru
Masalah biasa
- Dua kategori nama sama — AAU Club Manager benarkan tapi mengelirukan; guna suffix (cth.
U10 A,U10 B) - Kategori tak muncul untuk ibu bapa — check
Show in parent carddan age range
